Sealyham 19th October 2019
Tony led the group of 18 on a bright sunny 10.8 mile route crossing the Treffgarne Gorge and under the railway line to climb up through the woods to head over Little Treffgarne Mountain heading towards Rinaston. At times another wet underfoot experience but manageable and the bright blue skies made up for it. Garn Turne (an ancient burial ground) provided a peaceful and interesting lunch spot with views to Plumstone and Treffgarne rocks in the distance. The return leg took us to the outskirts of Little Newcastle, on the way to St. Dogwells and then passing through the Outdoor Centre at Sealyham, with its very impressive mansion house and then a distance of almost a mile through the Estate’s woodland and back to the edge of Wolfscastle village and along the gorge to the cars. With the Wolf Inn closed, the Pump on the Green at Spittal provided refreshments and felt the economic advantage.
