Llanmadoc to Llanrhidian, Gower.

This 9.5 mile walk started from a car park with an unusual honesty box at its entrance. Just 8 of us had made the trip down to the Gower. The weather was sunny and warm. We walked through woodland and open fields and along tracks with good views of the saltmarsh and beyond the river Loughor  to Burry Port and Llanelli. Our way was blocked at one point while a flock of sheep took precedence over a narrow bridge. Our walk took us through the lovely villages of Landimore and Llanrhidian on our way out and Leason and Cheriton on our return. We passed Weobley Castle described as a high society home with its own watchtower and enjoyed more dramatic views of the windswept coast. An enjoyable away walk was followed by a visit to a local hotel where we enjoyed a drink and a meal in the open air. Thanks to all for your friendly company and making the journey down.
