Brechfa and Gwernogle.  Staturday 17th July 2021

Despite a forecast of scorching weather, twelve walkers made the trip across the county border for this walk at Brechfa.

The route consisted of a figure of eight, through mixed woodland to the small village of Gwernogle and then on to St Michael's Church Llanfihangel Rhos y Corn.  A cretan style labyrinth has been constructed within the churchyard and this shaded area provided a perfect location for lunch.

A short climb to the highest point on the route was rewarded by fine views a gentle stroll downhill back to Gwernogle. More climbing then followed up through dense woodland until eventually reaching forrestry tracks for the final  leg back to the car park where the group enjoyed cool refreshments.
