Wiston Area Sunday 5th December 2021

This consisted two loops, a 4 mile one in and around Woods south Wisten, and a 3 mile one to the east of Wiston.

18 on the walk, 3 of whom just did the first loop. The two loops were separated by lunch in the remains of the keep of Wiston Castle.

The weather was cold, intermittent rain separated by spells of bright sun - not unpleasant walking weather !

Quite lot a of heavy rain in the days leading up to the walk, so plenty of deep mud and water logged ground. All rose to the challenge and didn't complain.

Several trees down across the paths, due to the famous storm which hit us in the previous week, but only very minor detours were required.

The walk was mainly woodland, with some road, track and fields
