The Gann
Eight members turned up for this walk from Picklewick Car Park, Dale. Setting off with the threat of a storm coming in in the afternoon, we set off over the tidal bridge (now partly destroyed by a recent storm) & up over The Gann towards St Ishmael’s after dodging a rain shower on the way. Once on the coastal path we could see the storm coming in off the sea so tried quickly made for the refuge in beautiful little church in Monk Haven for the lunch stop to get out of the wind & rain.
Once back on the coastal path the worst of the storm of the season hit us & we had to endure cold winds, driving rain & hail (which stung one’s exposed face) for the last mile or so back to the car park. None of us were in a mood to sit in a pub afterwards in our wet clothing, so we were all soon on our way home & a warm tea. All agreed that despite the weather it was a good walk.
