Llys-y-Fran. Saturday 14th August 2021
On, off, on, off on off. For much of the day the pattern was waterproofs on, off, on, off, with wardrobe stops as it warmed up, and so on. The rain was not that heavy, and visibility was good. Despite a number of cancellations, 21 turned out and enjoyed the 6.9 circuit led by George. New to some, and not as flat as they expected, the lake circuit around Llys-y-Fran was an enjoyable outing. We were allocated our own section in the car park (a sign of our significance?). There were a number of cyclists ranging from the dedicated mud spattered to the parents with quite young children and we gelled by forming a single line as they made their way past. Fortunatly there were no speed merchants, and the walkers and cyclists worked well together. There was an additional water activity of 3km and 5 km wild water swimming regional heats taking place. There was plenty of seating to enjoy our post walk refreshments, though the tables were very spaced out, in yards rather than feet, as can be seen.
Lead by George and photos George and John.
