Solstice Gathering with Karen Durham
On the evening of Friday 21st June 2019, 7 Rambler Members gathered at Bedd Morris Car Park. After a lovely sunny day, the evening was still warmish when we set off on a pleasant stroll across the moorland, and then a climb up Carn Ingli stopping at “Nigel’s Stone” where other members took turns to lay down on the stone. A new tradition which must be done when walking on Solstice evening.
We then had a beautiful view over Newport Beach and Dinas Head with the sun setting down on it all. Behind us the fields and trees were lush green with the sun setting shadows over it all. We stayed on Carn Ingli having drinks/cake and Chris supplied a picnic of Indian food and drink. Nigel and Abi joined us on Carn Ingli making a total of 9 members. As it got chilly some of us made our way down slowly from Carn Ingli at 9.10 pm approx, where we passed ponies and their foals. The others stayed on Carn Ingli for a while longer.
A pleasant enjoyable, calm and peaceful evening spent sitting on the top of Carn Ingli.
